A Millville police dispatcher was charged with multiple computer theft and official misconduct offenses after authorities alleged she illegally accessed and shared restricted police data.

Prosecutors say Samantha J. Simpkins, 30, of Cedarville, was arrested Feb. 26 following an investigation by the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office Professional Standards Unit, prompted by a referral from the Millville Police Department.

Simpkins is charged with computer theft, unlawful access and disclosure of restricted data, and official misconduct, according to the prosecutor's office.

Officials said that while employed as a public safety dispatcher with the Millville Police Department, Simpkins accessed — or exceeded her authorized access to — restricted data from department and New Jersey Judiciary databases. The alleged infractions occurred between November 2024 and August 2025, officials said.

Authorities also say she shared restricted information with unauthorized individuals on several occasions during that time.

Simpkins was released pending further proceedings under court-imposed conditions, officials said.
