The Garden State’s own groundhog, Milltown Mel, saw his shadow Saturday morning on Groundhog’s Day.
If Mel's prediction stands true, there will be six more weeks of winter.
Some residents are disappointed with Mel’s predictions but others say they want some snow before spring arrives.
Punxsutawney Phil, however, predicted an early spring when emerged from his burrow at Gobbler's Knob just before 7:30 a.m. and didn't see his shadow.
Staten Island Chuck also predicted an early spring this year.
