The Merrill Creek Reservoir in Harmony Township is temporarily closed due to cases of bird flu detected on the property.

The state Department of Environmental Protection confirmed that sick and dead birds recently discovered there were infected with the virus.

As of Friday morning, there is no word if any humans have been in contact. It is also unclear when the reservoir will reopen to visitors.
