Mayor Michael Bloomberg (R-NY) has been talking about cutting down on gun violence in the Bronx and city for months and Thursday he signed four anti-gun bills into law.
The four bills are designed to get more guns off the streets by making penalties tougher. The first bill bans paint kits used to make real guns look like toys. The second will create a gun offender registry that would make those convicted of criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree report personal information to police. The third bill will tighten inventory control by gun dealers. And the last bill limits all handgun purchases to one every three months.
A ceremony will be held sometime Thursday.
