A Mass was held at Seton Hall University Sunday evening to remember the three students who died and the dozens who were injured in a dorm fire 20 years ago.
Hundreds packed Seton Hall's Chapel of the Immaculate Conception to honor and pray for the victims of the Boland Hall fire on Jan. 19, 2000.
Aaron Karol died that day. His parents tell News 12 that a piece of their family is still missing, and that day doesn't go by that he's not their thoughts.
The Mass was followed by an emotional walk to the Memorial Garden.
The Sprinkler Law went into effect within six months of the Seton Hall fire, ensuring that all college dorms were required to have sprinklers systems installed to help prevent fires from occurring in the future.

Sen. Bob Menendez and Rep. Bill Pascrell tell News 12 they are working on a new bill that would continue to increase fire safety awareness for students. This would include improving fire safety training programs on college campuses nationwide.
