Residents in Manasquan are bracing for the impact of Tropical Storm Hermine.
By mid-afternoon Saturday, a few blocks from the beachfront, excess water was already seen coming from storm drains on Brielle Road. Manasquan is one of the most susceptible areas of Monmouth County when it comes to tidal flooding.
A 4- to 5-foot tidal surge is expected in some parts of Manasquan.
The borough council president of Manasquan says emails were being sent out telling residents, especially those in flood-prone and low-lying areas, to move their vehicles from the streets.
Officials say the worst conditions in Manasquan are expected Sunday night into Monday.
