The New Jersey State Police have identified the man who died in a crash on Interstate 78 in Union.
Sgt. Jeff Flynn said that 40-year-old Basim Othman, of Budd Lake, was killed Monday afternoon when the 2013 Honda Accord he was driving veered onto the grass median and struck a state department of transportation pickup truck.
The DOT worker and the man he was helping to fix a flat tire suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The accident shutdown the westbound express lanes of the highway and caused major delays in the area.
