(AP) - A man who fatally shot his roommate during an argument in their apartment has been sentenced to 20 years in state prison.
Camden County prosecutors say William Clark III must serve at least 17 years before he becomes eligible for parole. The 52-year-old Audubon man had pleaded guilty in October to aggravated manslaughter as part of a plea deal.
Authorities say Clark shot 38-year-old Steven Johnston in January 2015. Clark then called 911 and told the dispatcher he had shot his roommate in the head, then waited for authorities to arrive on scene.
Prosecutors have said Clark told police that he and Johnston were having a conversation when Clark said he became upset and shot Johnson.
