Man charged with murder after body found on Howell street
The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office says it has arrested and charged a man with murder following the death of another man whose body was found on a street in Howell.

The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office says it has arrested and charged a man with murder following the death of another man whose body was found on a street in Howell.
According to the prosecutor’s office, Juan Carlos Rivera Rojas, (also known as Omar Rivera Rojas), 29, of Lakewood, has been charged with first-degree murder.
The body of Domingo Merino Rafael, 33, of Lakewood, was found last Friday morning on Hurley Pond Road, just east of Route 547. Police say Rafael was killed, and his body was left on the road.
Police initially thought it was a hit-and-run, but police found him with several stab wounds.
Rojas is being held in the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in Freehold Township pending his first court appearance next month.
