(AP) - A New Jersey man who allegedly had a loaded gun in his luggage at Newark Liberty International Airport is now facing a weapons charge.
Transportation Security Administration officials say the East Orange resident had a 9 mm handgun loaded with seven bullets, one of which was in the chamber. Agents spotted the gun Thursday night as it went through a screening machine in Terminal B.
The man's name has not been disclosed.
The incident marks
the second gun arrest at the airport this week and fifth this year. That comes after 14 guns were seized at the airport in 2018, the most in a single year.
