It's the day after Christmas, and retailers are ready for returns.
The Menlo Park Mall opened at 8:00 a.m., and the parking lot was expected to be full.
Between sales at many of the stores, gift card shopping and returns, it will be a bustling day inside all of the malls across New Jersey.
If you do plan on returning items bought, it's best to have the original receipt or a gift receipt.
But many stores are moving toward a stricter return policy because of consumer fraud.
Fraud cost retailers more than $2 billion last year.
According to the National Retail Federation, the top four fraud problems include returning stolen items, inside jobs with actual employees helping scam over their own stores, counterfeit money or fake merchandise, and wardrobing -- when someone buys clothing or jewelry for a special occasion and then returns it.
It's always best to check the store's individual return policy.
