So we made it to Friday. Time for Main Street, Connecticut, a chance to showcase our local towns and cities and what they have to offer. This week we're in Norwalk. News 12 Connecticut's Mark Sudall is at BJ's Bank house with more for us, Mark. Hey Becky, yeah, we are here getting ready to celebrate the Kentucky Derby coming up tomorrow. They're calling it the the ultimate Kentucky Derby block party, and River Street here is gonna be closed tomorrow afternoon as folks are gonna be partying it up as they watch the Kentucky Derby. be kicking off about 6 o'clock tomorrow evening. Joining me this morning is BJ Lawless here from Bank House. Thank you so much. You started this last year. It seemed to be pretty successful, so you thought you'd do it again. What do we want to know about tomorrow? Thank you, Mark. Thanks for having me. So tomorrow is going to be a wonderful day. Looks like the weather is going to cooperate with us. It starts at 2 p.m. tomorrow with our doggie Park. Bring your dog down best dressed. There's a prize for that. At 3 o'clock our DJ goes on until 4 o'clock when our first band Cherry Pie starts. They will go on until 6 and then the race of course will be a little before 7 o'clock. And then right after that Otis and the Hurricanes goes on for the rest of the evening and throughout that entire day we will be judging best hat, best dressed, prizes for that, as well as winners sports tech will have their experts out. And they'll be helping anybody that wants to walk right up the street to place a wager, and on top of that we will have our stage with the huge jumbotron where everybody will be able to watch this race. Wow. And again, it seemed like it was very successful last year. What are you going to be serving here? So we are going to be serving our authentic barbecue right outside as well as our full menu on the inside. We will also have Two bars outside in the street which will be blocked off for adult beverages, and Greer Southern Table will also be joining us as well. And that brings me to my next topic here. We're going to be across the street at Greer Southern coming up in our next hour as we get ready for the big day tomorrow. Becky, that sounds like so much fun. OK, Mark, thanks so much.

We're getting you up to speed on all you need to know about the ultimate Kentucky Derby block party here in Norwalk. They're gonna close River Street, Bank house across the street. Greer Southern Table. We are at here. My stepson Chris Lesko is here this morning. Jazz. Chilton is here to be here for moral support, I think. Uh, thank you both for being with us. I know you both have a busy schedule going on. Chris, what do we want to know about uh the block party tomorrow? So Block Party last year was awesome. This year gonna be even better. The live music will go on. Jazz and I will be outside. We're gonna be serving our, our cocktails, you know, we got a Vulcan margarita, we got a Woodford mint julep. We got some old fashions going on. We have a Hendura blueberry margarita. And, uh, among others we're also gonna have another station with uh fried chicken, mac and cheese, and some boiled peanuts. The boiled peanuts are really good, um, but we're famous for our fried chicken. You gotta, gotta come check it out. Oh, it's great. Yeah, like 2 years since you guys have been open, yeah, about 2 years now, coming up in June. And there's gonna be bands playing. There's gonna have, we're gonna have a a dog contest. You're gonna have people dressing up for the Derby, right? I think your mother is actually gonna dress up for this one. She's going all out this time. She's. And then what what's Mark? Mark, you got, yeah, all I got is like a t-shirt that says Kentucky Derby. Let's go. Come on. We gotta do something. And Chris is all, I'll just give a quick little pluck here. Chris is also in a band for legal reasons. They got a gig tonight in Norwalk at O'Neills, right? 10 to 1 a.m. It's going to be a great time. Very good. We're also celebrating Jazz's birthday.
