The Monmouth County enclave of Little Silver might have a liquor license to sell.
Voters on Tuesday approved a referendum that would allow the community of 5,906 to allow a business to sell alcohol. A similar referendum was defeated in 1981.
Restaurants currently allow patrons to bring their own alcohol.
Officials must now amend Little Silver's Alcoholic Beverage Control Ordinance and the Zoning Ordinance to permit the sale of a liquor license at auction. Officials must determine the establishment's size, location and hours of operation.
