Little Silver church hosts vigil to honor victims of gun violence

A Monmouth County community came together on Wednesday to call for an end to gun violence.
St. John’s Episcopal Church in Little Silver hosted a candlelight vigil to honor victims of gun violence and to call for peace.
Signs placed on the church lawn showed the number of people killed by gun violence in each state this year.
"We felt that the community should come together because there's a lot of division in the country right now, and we wanted to help the community come together to bring healing and to see if we can make the next step and walk forward in peace,” says the Rev. Tammy Young.
This is the first time the church has held an anti-gun violence vigil.
Church leaders say that they are open to doing it again next year.
