A Little Falls man was arrested after police say they spotted him urinating on the side of the road.
Fairfield police saying they first received a call from a concerned citizen around 3 a.m. about a possible drunk driver at a McDonald’s in Fairfield. Police say they spotted Estefano Caporal-Garcia, 21, who matched the description given, on the shoulder of Route 46 East.
As the officer pulled behind the vehicle that matched the description given to police, he allegedly saw Caporal-Garcia standing outside of the driver’s door urinating on the roadway, according to police.
Police say they found an empty 24-ounce Corona beer inside the car, and Caporal-Garcia was slurring his speech. Caporal-Garcia was arrested for driving while intoxicated. The car was impounded, per New Jersey law.
Caporal-Garcia was transported to headquarters for processing, where police say his blood-alcohol content was above the legal limit. In addition to being charged with driving while intoxicated, Caporal-Garcia faces multiple charges, including having an open container of alcohol in the vehicle and urinating in public.
He was later released pending an initial appearance at the Fairfield Municipal Court on Aug. 24.
