A house surrounded by floodwater in Lincoln Park was destroyed by fire on Tuesday.
Lincoln Park police say fire crews rescued a woman using a military truck to gain access. She is expected to be OK.
Thick black smoke filled the air early in the morning and was seen billowing out from the house on Riveredge Road.
Due to high floodwaters caused by Monday’s storm, firefighters were not able to enter the home. Officials say the fire burned until it went out on its own.
