Paterson mayor and health officials announced Thursday lead removal resources through the Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program.
It includes replacement of windows, doors and walls.
Residents with children in homes built before 1978 may be eligible.
"Last year, the city of Paterson, the Division of Health, received a $3.4 million grant to Knock the Lead Out of Paterson. So, we now actually have the resources to get the lead out of your units, out of your apartment for the very first time," said Paterson Public Health Officer Dr. Paul Persaud.
The resources are free, and residents can learn more by visiting www.patersonnjhealth.gov.
