A new lawsuit claims an ICE detainee died at the Hudson County jail because of poor medical care.
Carlos Bonilla, 43, died back in 2017 after being in the Kearny jail for two months. Bonilla was a father of four.
According to the suit filed by Bonilla's family, the medical staff knew he suffered from cirrhosis, but failed to evaluate and treat him.
The suit also says Bonilla is one of 17 people who've died at the jail since 2013.
Bonilla was a resident of Long Island and lived in the U.S. for 25 years.
He owned and operated a construction company.
