Travel agents say they've already started seeing the division as cruise ships announce vaccines will be mandatory.
Having the passport could affect sporting events, concerts and maybe even jobs.
New York is already testing an app for proof you've been vaccinated or recently tested negative.
It will be used at places like Barclays Center and Madison Square Garden.
No such app is needed right now for the Prudential Center, which had no comment on the possibility.
The vaccine passport is raising questions about privacy. Gov. Murphy says he's not sure yet.
The White House admitted this week it will play a role in vaccine passports but tried to put the onus on the private sector.
