Laundry workers held a rally
Tuesday in Perth Amboy against Med-Apparel, pushing for more protections
against coronavirus.
Employees clean sheets and
other linens for hospitals and nursing homes.
They say the company has not
enforced social distancing, masks, and other safety measures. Mayor Wilda Diaz
was also in attendance, advocating for their protection.
"We really don't know what's going to happen within the next couple
of months, so we want to ensure that companies like these take head and ensure
the wellbeing and the health of employees that are going to be working," says Mayor Diaz.
Workers are also protesting
their pay and pension plans.
