The 2026 NBA champions New York Knicks will finally receive a historic ticker‑tape parade through the Canyon of Heroes this Thursday after a 53‑year championship drought. The event, a first in franchise history, is expected to bring massive crowds to lower Manhattan.
Mayor Zohran Mamdani launched a new information hub where fans can find updates on the parade route, viewing areas, transportation options and day‑of guidelines.
The parade will kick off at 10 a.m. near Battery Park, travel up Broadway and conclude at City Hall, where players will be honored in a special ceremony and receive keys to the city.
City officials say they expect enormous crowds, especially after the electric atmosphere that filled the streets throughout the Knicks’ playoff run.
NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch confirmed that a significant police presence will be stationed along the route, with more security details to be released ahead of the event. Mamdani emphasized a zero‑tolerance policy for violence.
No tickets are required.
Fans are encouraged to use public transit and check the city’s website for real‑time updates before heading to Lower Manhattan.
