Kean University has eliminated several majors and reduced staff in an attempt to manage a $20 million budget shortfall.
The school is closing its music conservatory and is eliminating majors in theater education, economics and sustainability science. This will save the school $2 million a year, and officials say those programs have low enrollment.
They say 126 students out of 16,000 are enrolled in the cut programs.
