Nearly 2,000 college students die each year in alcohol related incidents. Kane in Your Corner is examining what can be done to curb binge drinking on New Jersey's campuses.
One possible step to alleviate the problem is an amnesty bill being pushed for by recovering alcoholic Dan Meth. Meth, 26, was underage when a friend passed out after drinking and later fell into a coma. Too scared of being punished for illegally drinking, Meth did not call for help when something still could have been done.
Meth and others would feel more lifesaving calls would be made if underage drinkers knew there wouldn't be backlash for getting help.
"It's a great burden to know that something as simple as a phone call could have saved a life," says Meth.
