Judge refuses to overturn decision to ban 2 sisters from St. Theresa School
A judge has upheld the decision to keep two sisters from returning to St. Theresa School in Kenilworth after a dispute over one of them wanting to play on the boys' basketball team.
Superior Court Judge Donald Kessler lashed out at the parents of Sydney and Kaitlyn Phillips for making the dispute public.
James Goodness, the director of communications for the Archdiocese of Newark, says the archdiocese was thankful for the decision
"We wish also to be clear that this is not a day for rejoicing," says Goodness. "Although the family at the center of this lawsuit was unsuccessful in its efforts to disrupt and inflict further damage on the school community, we wish them no ill will."
