Frigid temperatures didn’t stop a group of Jersey Shore runners from running on the boardwalk Thursday.
The "Rise and Shine" group of the Jersey Shore Running Club meets on the boardwalk every Thursday on 16th Avenue in Belmar.
Regardless of weather conditions, they say they meet every week at 6 a.m.
"Your body heats up about 10-20 degrees once you run,” says runner Deborah Alpert. “So once you're running, you're good.”
The group says their camaraderie helps keep them going, especially in this kind of weather.

“You have to get inside quickly, you have to dress properly,” says Alpert.
Alpert says she'd rather run outside than on what she calls the "dreadmill."
