Forecast: Mostly sunny Monday with sweltering highs in the 90s

Sizzling temperatures are on tap to kick off the work week in the Garden State.

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for most New Jersey counties through Monday evening due to the high temperatures and expected high humidity.

News 12 New Jersey meteorologists say temperatures Monday will top out around 96 degrees. Skies will be mostly sunny, but there could be a chance for a thunderstorm.

Monday night will see scattered thundershowers with overnight temperatures in the upper-70s.

Tuesday will be mostly cloudy with a chance for a thunderstorm and highs around 90 degrees.

And Wednesday is set to bring partly sunny skies with highs of 82 degrees.
