From Hudson to Monmouth counties, flood waters on Friday damaged homes in Ocean Township.

Heavy rain combined with continued higher than normal tides created a flooding situation in low lying areas.

In Manasquan, the projected high tide at 8 a.m. will crest just below moderate flood stage. But with heavy overnight rains, storm drains won't be able to handle the runoff once the tide comes in.

Residents living in areas where they see water rising out of storm drains should be extra alert Friday during the morning and evening high tides.

Downed tree in Wall Township blocks major road

Heavy rain and strong winds along the coast brought down a large branch blocking a major road in Wall Township this morning. The closure affects Atlantic Avenue just east of the Route 35 circle.

As of 6:15 a.m., Wall Township Public Works was on scene to remove the tree.
