The official charter for an American Legion Auxiliary Unit is now in Belleville, Essex County. It is a support group for the American Legion Post in town.  

This charter is made up exclusively of the spouses and family members of veterans. Their goal is to support their local American Legion Post, post 105, and they recently got 30 new members. 

The group has been trying to get the charter since before the pandemic, but COVID-19 stalled the process. 

There are over 10,000 auxiliary units around the country.
