Bob Gibson, who was previously featured on Jersey Proud, died the age of 102 on Monday.
He was a part of the invasion of Normandy.
Gibson was also a huge pillar in his community where he served as volunteer firefighter for over 70 years - and was once mayor.
Funeral arrangements are still underway and have yet to be announced.
