Veterans Day is Wednesday, but one city in Hudson County paid tribute early with a parade on Sunday.
For the first time, Jersey City hosted a Veterans Day parade to honor all men and women who have served in the armed forces.
Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop, a Marine who served in the Iraq war, says it was important to get an event of this magnitude in the city and recognize all the efforts and sacrifices veterans made in fighting for freedom.
City officials say they hope the parade becomes an annual event.
