Some Jersey City residents could have their cars booted for unpaid parking tickets, according to officials.
Mayor Steven Fulop and the Department of Public Safety say residents with more than five tickets or more than $300 in fines could get their cars booted until they settle their debt. It will be enforced in residential areas.
This comes after residents complained about unregistered cars taking up spots in the area.
More than 100 vehicles have been booted so far, totaling in $150,000 in unpaid fines.
