Still locked up this morning. No word on when or if Jenkinson's plans to reopen their beach access points after being told by the State Department of Environmental Protection, they're in violation news, New Jersey's Jim Murdoch back on the boardwalk in Point Beach this morning and Jim many are wondering here. So what happens if Jenkinson's continues to ignore the state? And the quick answer, Nick and Simon is simply, we don't know. And that's because yesterday afternoon, I received an email back from the dep saying at this time, they would have no further comment on this matter. So if any talks and discussions are happening behind the scenes between Jenkinson's and the dep, we just don't know. So two days after Jenkinson's speech was put on notice by Department of Environmental Protection for violating beach access laws, chains and locks while they remain at the entrances. Jenkinson's controls the majority of beach access points here in point Pleasant Beach. The dep sent a letter to Jenks on Tuesday telling them they were not allowed to do that. A lot of people on the boardwalk say the dep should force Jenkinson's to open the beaches because this may very well have a financial impact on the town. I'm concerned that, that, that if I could call it a knee jerk reaction um without the legalities taking their due course will cause uh the town and, and all the connected businesses, a lot of problems in the long run, you know, they, they count on this revenue throughout the season. Bill and others were forced to climb up on the benches to get their sunrise photos again this morning to see over the dune grass because the entrances remain locked. So beach advocates are following this case. And another one happening also right now, about eight miles north of here in Ocean Grove. Back over the summer in August, the dep sent the camp meeting association a letter telling them they were in violation for closing access due to religious reasons.
