Two New York City men are behind bars after allegedly going on a nearly $6,000 shoplifting spree across multiple North Jersey malls, police said, stealing dozens of pairs of women's leggings and merchandise from an Apple Store.

On Wednesday night, Paramus Detective Sergeant Matt McGuire spotted a white Ford Explorer with North Carolina plates at the Westfield Garden State Plaza mall that matched the description of a vehicle believed to have been used in a theft earlier that day at the American Dream Mall.

Those two men, Fabian Andres Suarez Garcia, 44, and Jordan A. Vasquez, 45, both of Queens, New York, were followed to ALO Yoga, where Detective Justin Sicari observed them concealing multiple items and leaving the store without paying.

They then allegedly stole items from the accessory aisle of the Apple Store and left without paying, then returning to their vehicle and storing the stolen merchandise inside.

Police continued to follow the men, who returned to ALO Yoga and concealed more merchandise before leaving the store without paying, according to police.

Both suspects were taken into custody as they returned to their vehicle by Detectives Kevin Grady and Sicari, who then recovered the stolen items from the rear seat of the Explorer.

Items recovered included 45 women's leggings and shorts from ALO Yoga, valued at approximately $4,942, as well as 10 accessory items from the Apple Store, valued at approximately $920.95, according to police.

Both men were charged with shoplifting - organized retail theft, a second-degree offense, and receiving stolen property, a third-degree offense.

Both men are being held in custody pending their court appearances.
