At his daily briefing Tuesday, the governor did offer some hope for the weekend down at the Jersey Shore.
"It won't be the old normal, but can we get some semblance of a new normal on the shore by the time Memorial Day weekend comes around," says Gov. Murphy. "I'm going to say yes, but that's not to say we still won't take an economic hit, that some stuff won't still be closed."

The governor posted a picture on his Twitter page, saying "Just wrapped up a call with our Shore town mayors and Shore county leadership on beach policy as we continue our fight against #COVID19.  The Jersey Shore is part of our DNA and we all want to see it humming through the summer – but we must move strategically and safely."
