A woman from Irvington was arrested in connection to a shooting in October at the Roxbury Motel, according to Morris County prosecutors.
Officials say Auraceli Maldonado, 24, was captured on surveillance video arriving at the motel parking lot in a Honda Accord to meet a 36-year-old man. They say a woman and a man exited the car.
Prosecutors say during the meeting, the victim was allegedly robbed and shot in the leg during a struggle for a gun. Maldonado is accused of being armed with an AR- style rifle. The victim was transported to a medical center with severe but not life-threatening injuries.
According to officials, an investigation revealed Maldonado was the registered owner of the Honda Accord that traveled through East Hanover shortly after the incident.
Prosecutors say the second suspect, a man who was with Maldonado during the robbery, is still at large. They say the suspects fled the scene immediately after the incident.
Maldonado was arrested in Florida on Nov. 2 and extradited back to New Jersey. She is currently being held at the Morris County Correctional Facility and faces armed robbery, weapons and assault charges.
