? An Irvington family is sharing the pain of losing a relative to gun violence in the hope that witnesses will come forward to help solve the crime.
Esmay Parchment says her 27-year-old son, Samuel Parchment, was gunned down in East Orange last year, but police have not made any arrests. She says she's spent many sleepless nights crying. The victim leaves behind an 8-year-old son. A makeshift memorial still stands on North Arlington Avenue where Parchment was shot six times.
The victim's mother believes witnesses are too scared to speak up and says her story has become too common. Parchment believes the only way to take back the community from gun violence is to show that it will not be tolerated.
