With Hurricane Isaac wreaking havoc in the Gulf of Mexico, a standstill in oil and gas production is likely to cause gas prices to skyrocket just in time for Labor Day weekend.
Prices are predicted to rise as much as 10 cents, with some reports saying as much as 20 cents in the coming weeks.
The state average right now is around $3.62.
Gas prices are 14 cents higher right now than they were one year ago. That?s a year to the day that Irene hit New Jersey.
