Nearly 300 employees will reportedly be laid off in the new year at the Morris County-based pharmaceutical company, Novartis.
According to online publication Fierce Pharma, the layoffs will affect about 285 employees at three New Jersey locations.
The dismissals will reportedly take effect as of Jan. 28, 2023, and come on the heels of a June announcement that the company would trim 8,000 jobs globally.
While the restructuring will include executive-level layoffs, it has unfortunately also extended to the company's three buildings in East Hanover: Novartis Services, Novartis Pharmaceuticals and Novartis Corporation.
