A group of students from Hopatcong is making New Jersey proud with their project to send Christmas stockings to U.S. troops stationed overseas.
Sussex County families have been collecting supplies and making holiday greeting cards for the troops.
The kids in the Hopatcong Music Honor Society, along with middle schoolers, packed the stockings with socks, candy and hand warmers. The kids at Tulsa Trail Elementary School drew up holiday cards.
It was part of the Supplies for Soldiers program, which is held every year.
They thought that they would have enough to stuff 25 stockings – they ended up packing 40.
