(AP) - It was a violent holiday weekend forNew Jersey's second largest city, which saw a homicide, twoshootings, two stabbings and numerous robberies in Jersey City.
Police spokesman Lt. Edgar Martinez tells the Jersey Journal that Christmas Eve was especially bad.
He says a 21-year-old man was shot after being turned away froma bar, a 54-year-old man was stabbed in the chest trying to breakup fight outside his home, and a teenage boy was attacked byanother 13-year-old with a knife over a basketball game.
On Christmas, a man was shot walking down Belmont Avenue by anunknown person and separately a 44-year-old man died from bluntforce trauma to the head. Hudson County Prosecutor Edward DeFaziosays three of the man's relatives are expected to be charged.
Several robberies were also reported.
