We are one day out from Thanksgiving, so let's get a closer look at the roadways and how early people are packing up to beat the traffic. The weather is cooperating today, so it is even more of an incentive to start the day early and hit the road.
"It's not bad so far, pretty easy going. No traffic, just to beat the traffic and pass the Jersey Turnpike as quick as possible," said one traveler headed to North Carolina.
The AAA projects nearly 80 million people will head 50 miles or more from home over the Thanksgiving holiday travel period. This year, the most popular mode of travel is by car at 89.83%. The good news is that gas prices have come down considerably since this time last year.
