An Ocean County Little League organization is helping food truck owners stay afloat.
With big summer festivals and events canceled by the COVID-19 pandemic, owners say that the food truck industry is in a tough spot.
But the Holbrook Little League organization in Jackson Township has opened its parking lot to the food truck owners so that they have a spot to sell their products.
“Right away it was a great opportunity for both of us,” says Holbrook events coordinator Erik Johnson. “It just seemed like a natural fit.”
The league is allowing the local food trucks to work on the property seven days a week for a flat fee.

“We actually just got a private event booked because of her eating off of the food truck,” says Suzanne Lorin, owner of Sweet Carolina Barbecue.
The fee will help Holbrook Little League pay their own bills.
League officials say that the trucks are following all safety guidelines and that customers are following social distancing rules as well.
