Fans of the New Jersey Devils came out in full force to support the team as they took on the New York Rangers for the final game of their NHL playoff series.
Fans came from near and far, with many arriving hours before the puck dropped.
“We drove all the way from Delaware – Dover, Delaware, to come to the game. We're season ticket holders and wouldn't miss this for the world,” says Bob Roth.
Liam Bertrand is visiting from California.
“Come in for the game and fly home tomorrow,” he says.
The crowds piled in at Championship Plaza at the Prudential Center in Newark for a fan celebration. There was a line of food trucks, a live band, and tons of energy.
“I think it's going to be wild. The place is going to be bumping, the roof is going crazy. Raise the roof tonight,” says Devils fan Ryan Echavaria.
For some, this was their first NHL playoff game.
“Words can't describe it. I couldn't even sleep last night. I've been ready for it, we just found out we were going yesterday. We're ecstatic to be here. We can't wait for it,” says Jack Korzeneski.
The Devils defeated the Rangers 4-0 and will now move on to play the Carolina Hurricanes in the next round of the playoffs.
