Hoboken officials have unveiled a new program to help provide an alternative for the parking problem in the city.

Mayor Dawn Zimmer announced Wednesday the Hudson Bike Share program for city residents. The next-generation program will feature GPS and communication equipment.

"This is going to give Hoboken residents and visitors a very convenient way to get from anywhere in our city to everywhere that they want to go," Zimmer says. "It will be great for commuting, running errands and for recreational purposes."

The Hudson Bike Share will include 250 bikes at 29 different stations around the city.

It is not related to Citi Bike, a similar bike-sharing program.
