On Monday, the city of Hoboken will hold booster shot clinics at several locations around the city ahead of the holidays.
Earlier this week the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Food and Drug Administration approved booster shots for adults ages 18 and up, with a strong recommendation for adults over 50.
Both the CDC and the FDA say adults who received their second dose of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines at least six months ago can now get a booster shot. Adults who got the Johnson & Johnson vaccine may receive the booster shot two months after receiving it.
Officials in the City of Hoboken say they've had success in vaccinating the 65 and over population, however they're now encouraging those under 65 to also get vaccinated ahead of the holidays.
The clinics will be held Monday through Wednesday, appointment only. Adults getting the booster shot must bring their vaccination card.
