The city of Hoboken has lifted a state of emergency that was first implemented nearly two years ago at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The state emergency was first declared on March 12, 2020.

City officials say that because the COVID-19 numbers have improved so much across the city and the state of New Jersey, the state of emergency is no longer needed.
