A Hudson County high school student is hard at work trying to clean the state’s water supply.
Harshal Agrawal is a senior at McNair Academy in Jersey City. He is working on a science experiment to use the Stropharia Mycelium mushroom to clean the water.
Agrawal put the mushrooms into the Lincoln Park Golf Course lake this week in the hopes that it will prevent nitrates and phosphates from getting in the water and creating harmful algae blooms.
He says that his hope is that if it can work on the lake at the golf course, it can work on later levels.
