Henri expected to become a hurricane today and pass offshore of New Jersey over the weekend.
It will be close enough to deliver a possible blow to the New Jersey beaches.
The swell arrived in Asbury Park early Friday morning with chest to head high sets and building.
Henri is lurking 600 miles to the south with conditions expected to ramp up in the surf throughout the day.
It is calm water now, but that will change as the predicted path of Henri nudged a bit closer to the shore today.
Although the Jersey beaches are not expected to feel the brunt of the storm, crews in Neptune Township are already alerting locals with what they need to prepare for.
