Thunderstorms are expected to bring heavy rain, strong winds and flooding in parts of the state.
News 12 New Jersey Meteorologist Dave Curren says that the storms are also producing dangerous cloud-to-ground lightning strikes. New Jersey residents should remain indoors when thunder and lightning are in the area.

Curren says that the storms will potentially produce heavy rain that could lead to localized flooding. The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for Passaic and Bergen counties until 6 p.m.
The storms are expected to move out of the area by Wednesday evening, followed by mostly cloudy skies overnight.
There are also heat advisories in place for certain areas of New Jersey due to hot and humid temperatures in the 80s. New Jersey residents are advised to stay in cooler locations and to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.
Thursday will see partly sunny skies with temperatures in the upper-80s and low-90s. Scattered rain showers are possible overnight.
