So, here's one for you - today's high temperature was 90 degrees. Yup. Now I bet you're saying, "Dave – I was outside today, and it was not 90 degrees!”
Well, our daily high temperature for the day was set at midnight, and ever since then, the temperatures have been dropping.
Afternoon temperatures are 15 to 25 degrees cooler now than 24 hours ago. Most of the afternoon, the thermometers have been reading upper 70s. This break from the summer heat will continue into tomorrow with temperatures expected to be only in the upper 60s and lower 70s. The wind is coming in off the ocean, so the cool down is inevitable. Clouds and a brief passing shower are also possible.
Heat and humidity return for the weekend. A passing thunderstorm is possible. Typical summer weather.
Our second heat wave may be right around the corner. It won't be as punishing, but we may have another four or five days with highs in the 90s.
